Angus & Friends
Hello. I am a volunteer from a small UK dog rescue charity based around the Marske/Guisborough area in the north east.
I could tell some very sad stories but I thought you might like to hear about one rescue dog who has overcome severe separation anxiety to make a very happy recovery.
Angus, the black and white collie on the right was a stray who went to live with a family which we hoped would be his forever home. Sadly, after some time, Angus was returned to us having been so distructive that the family he was living with found they just couldn't cope.
Angus went back on our website and a local couple who already have two dogs and understood Angus's problems came to see him, they all got along well and we were overjoyed although apprehensive when Angus went out again.
All went well and Angus was adopted in the sunmmer but I have just received an email and photos which I want to share. Angus is now a different dog and 90% cured of his problems, he goes swimming in the hydrotherapy pool, has lovely long walks on the beach and has just started flyball with his two fiends, he is a natural and loves it.
A rescue dog can give you so much in return for your love and, and above all understanding. They all come with backgrounds we often don't know about, some really bad, but most problems can be worked through with love and patience.
Please try and help a rescue dog and if you are in our area, visit our S.O.S website which is listed in the Pet-Adoption-Lifeline Rescue Homes section.
When in doubt remember angus.
